 (1/5) Worst Experience Ever

By  on Jul 27, 2016

THE WORST experience of my entire wedding by far. Was told I could order my dress through Suzy Yoo no problem, and after it was 3 months late arriving, was told they actually couldn't order that designer and had to do it through another store in the states. Called to follow up numerous times and instead of being muted or put on hold, heard the employee asking about my dress and got the response of "just tell her what we've been telling her, it's on the way". When my dress did finally arrive, almost 4 months later than I was told (and only 2 months to go until my wedding) it was damaged, with a clear cut, which could have been from opening up the packaging. I told the employees working and Marisa states they never told her about the damages. After that, less than a week later I went it to find it was damaged further, with the lace being frayed all down the right side of my ribs. It then took numerous alteration appointments, and everything I came in for the "last appointment" there was several alterations I asked for that were not completed. The straps were very uneven and off, one was 1.5 inches wider than the other, along with several strange looking areas on my dress that the seamstress stated were "just the way the lace is" that after I requested it fixed numerous times were fixed to a point where it was "okay". Less than a week before my wedding my dress was still unfinished with several pieces of frayed lace that were to be trimmed and glued, as discussed not only in EVERY alteration appointment, but also on this day less than a week before my day. I informed Marisa that I would be leaving town on Tuesday morning for my destination wedding at 11, and asked the dress be fixed and ready. When I picked up my dress on my way out of town my dress was STILL not finished. We waited an hour and a half for the store to fix it up, and yet I found myself sitting on the floor the morning of my wedding trimming frayed lace pieces that had not been finished. When I went to pick up my dress and it was not ready, I told the employee working that I was not paying the balance on my dress due to the numerous issues that had occurred from start to finish with Suzy Yoo. The employee AGREED with me and said it was fine, and yet Marisa called me 2 days after my wedding about paying the balance. Now before my dress had even arrived, was damaged, and was not even fully finished, my mother and I went into the store very upset asking Marisa what she would do to correct the situation. After several minutes of silence she did offer free alterations (and now I know why my dress was never fully finished). There was also a major issue when my dress was months late, that forced me to have to purchase a veil elsewhere at full price, because Suzy Yoo did not have time to order the veil I wanted, at 50% off like I was offered at the sale of my dress. For this inconvenience, Marisa offered me $150 off. When the dress was damaged TWICE, and then not altered correctly, not finished 2 days before my wedding on the day I was leaving town, I did not feel that I should need to pay the balance. I will NEVER recommend this store to anyone, and I will make sure I tell as many people as possible about this experience because I would hate for anyone else to have to experience the stress and poor customer service that I experienced over a period of 11 months.
