Myself and a friend whom I was driving, Both of us seniors tried to enter Foodland in Bayfield. The young lady monitoring people entering the the store store asked if we had come from the same vehicle. Naturally we said yes. She told my friend he could enter but I could not. My friend did explain to her that we lived in two separate households and I was simply giving him a ride. We both needed our groceries. But again she said I was not allowed to come in. A lady came behind me assuming I was the lineup, the monitor told her she could enter the store. That lady looked at me and smiled and said not him? I said no I guess I can’t go in. That is when the monitor told me I could go in but only after my friend came out. There was no line behind me and approximately five cars in the parking lot outside of the grocery store (I have a picture). Another man came behind me waiting for just a minute untill she pointed at him and said you can go in. He said not you? I said no I have to wait. Because there was nobody else behind me in line and everybody was allowed in I asked if I could speak to the manager as this young lady said that’s their policy. After approximately 10 minutes me waiting in the sunshine with multiple customers simply coming up and being able to walk right in, a young lady came out, told me that’s their policy and she was not the manager and “not going to argue with me”. I was not being confrontational, I just asked to speak with the manager. The first young lady was still standing there and I told her that I could not stand here in the sun much longer and she said “ You can go wait in your car“. I went to my car and phoned the store, as my friend sometimes requires assistance, I asked to speak with the manager, Waited until Kalie came on the phone She identified herself as Kalie when I asked, but she indicated she was the lady who had met me at the door and told me that she did not want to argue with me. She would not tell me her name at that time. Is this a food land policy at all Foodland stores? I fully agree with the Covid restrictions. When it is extremely obvious that you are not to capacity, would a senior have to simply stand in the hot sun and wait. I guess not, I was told to “ Go wait in my car”
