(1/5) The Southdale SC speed bumps | by Andrea L on Mar 29, 2019
This is a nice place to shop but it’s difficult to drive in the lot due to the size of those speed bumps. Speed bumps are designed to slow traffic but those speed bumps can damage your vehicle. I’m sure a lot of businesses have been affected by them. They need to be shaved down to protect vehicles!

I live in Southdale. I like the selection of stores and services and I liked the re-paving and new painting that was invested in rebuilding the parking lot. The speed bumps, however, are absolutely atrocious. The speed limit in the parking lot is 25kph but at any speed, even as low as 5-10kph, those speed bumps hammer your suspension and jolt you hard on the way up and the way down. I just had all new struts and mounts installed in my vehicle within the last 6mos and I dread having to shop here now because my car takes a pounding every time. Speed bumps should not be teeth-jarring obstacles that make you worry you'll be visiting a garage soon. Please reduce the severity of these things to something more sensible that is conducive to driving at 25kph; I don't appreciate having my car and my spine beaten up whenever I go shopping and I'll shop elsewhere if I have to to preserve my vehicle. My rating would be much higher if it weren't for those implements of destruction...

Convenient so I go there if I have to but if I plan it out I go elsewhere in order to avoid those bumps. They've already lost some of my business and they will lose more. It feels disrepectful to the customer.

The newly applied speed bumps added this fall are absolutely brutal. They’re too tall and are destroying my vehicle at any speed. There are ways to make speed bumps work (wider and shorter) without this teeth chattering mess. I avoid places like Co op at all costs, and driving through to shop at other stores is non existent for me now. You’re chasing away customers, seemed like a bad business model to me. Oh, and if safety is a concern, maybe find a way to keep people from stopping/parking illegally in front of the Dollar Store/Rexall, it’s a perilous trip to walk between these vehicles to the parking lot when oncoming traffic can’t see you.

Let's install a bunch of oversized speed bumps to punish customers for shopping are our stores. Shave them down and fire the manager who made that decision and maybe I'll shop there again.
