(1/5) Manager needs to be fired
By Nicole on Sep 14, 2017
Evening, I am sending this to head office to hopefully make them aware of the type of manager that is representing their brand at the Brooklin location. I have never participated in writing any sort of review to any place of business, however this evenings experience has left such a bad taste with Great Clips and if I was running a business I would like to know if an employee of mine would so dare to treat my customers in a unnecessary rude way. I took my 6 year daughter to get her hair trimmed this evening and was pleasantly greeted by 2 female staff. One of the girls took my daughter right away. I asked her for a wash and to trim 2" off my daughters hair. All was great, she was engaging in talk with my daughter and no issues. She then proceeded to cut my daughters hair. I sat in the waiting area. When she was done she asked me if the cut was good? From where I was sitting it was noticeably lop-sided. I went to take a closer look and it was extremely uneven from left to right. I pointed it out and she apologized and noticed and tried to fix it.....but she continued to cut the shorter side instead of the longer side. It was getting a little uneasy since my daughter was hesitant to even cut her hair. 2" was all she wanted to part with but the young girl kept working on the shorter side instead of evening out the longer side. I have to admit I was a little panicking inside but didn't want to make a scene. I looked over to the man who was working there as well, and he looked like he knew what he was doing so I politely asked him if he could take a look at my daughters hair. He was literally escorting another client to the chair opposite of my daughters. The client, which was a baby, being held by her father wasn't even seated yet. All I asked was if he could possibly take a look at my daughters hair (which was to imply....see the girl cutting her hair seems to be struggling) He rudely told me "I'm with another customer" In a very rude tone. I was taken back considering it was a 10 second interruption to help guide the girl as to what side she should be cutting. I asked politely again if he could just see what I was seeing and he just said... "What do you want me to do? I'm with a customer, can't you see!" I kept mouth shut in disbelief. I stood there for about 1 to 2 minutes and he still hadn't started cutting the babies hair but was trying to robe the father and baby. I asked if he was the manager and he said yes. So I asked if he felt it was right to speak to customers that way. And that's when he really got rude and told me.. "What do you want? Can't you see I'm with a baby.... on and on about how he's with a customer... then goes to my daughters hair and points out very roughly how to section it and cut it to the girl then goes back to the baby and tells me "there! what more do you want me to do?" I told him that usually a manager or employee should never talk to a customer that way. I was done, decided this is the worst place ever and will never come back. The manager if he really is the manager needs to be fired or trained to learn how to speak to customers. The other lady working there then offered for her to take a look at my daughters hair and I told her it was ok. The girl cutting my daughters hair apologized for how long it was taking and gave me a $3 discount. She really didn't do anything wrong but just doesn't know how to cut hair, she was not rude knowing she was making a mistake and tried to make it up to me. I have no concerns about a really bad hair cut....it happens... maybe she's new... but the so called manager needs to get a new job!! Please look into this matter. Greatly appreciated. Some people should never be paid to be rude to customers. Very disappointed And my daughters hair is still uneven. Nicole
