Had my wedding band cleaned and polished here for the first time. I felt more gold was polished off my ring than needed to be. It was lightly scuffed, but a big difference in the weight and feel of my ring before and after. It is a comfort fit (rounded on the inside) and after cleaning and polishing it was pretty much flat on the inside and it was really noticeable on my finger (fits more loosely next to my engagement ring and felt lighter). It has been a few months and I can still tell it fits differently. A professional jeweller should be able to clean and polish a simple plain ring without altering it's shape. I haven't had this happen elsewhere before. There is some nice jewellery on display here, but I will not be using their services again.
